2018 Dyslexia Handbook Updates/
Region 18 Dyslexia Networking Session
Participants will learn explore each chapter of the 2018 Dyslexia Handbook updates. New updates will be emphasized in the areas of screening, dyslexia assessment, and dysgraphia. In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to share information with each other and explore best practices for serving the students of Region 18 with dyslexia and related disorders.

Reading by Design Dyslexia Intervention Program
A new 5 day state approved dyslexia intervention program designed by Region 4! Learn the fundamentals of dyslexia intervention through a review of Texas dyslexia laws and current research, as well as best practices in dyslexia instruction. Delve into evidence-based components of instruction and explore continuums for developing reading ability in students with dyslexia. Learn how to deliver daily intervention utilizing Reading by Design, a systematic, explicit, and intensive reading program. Participants will receive the entire Reading by Design program with supplemental resources necessary for small group instruction. Must attend all 5 days to receive credit and materials.

April 30 - May 1, 2019
Reading By Design Bridge Training
This 2-Day training is to bridge the current use of DIP to the newly evidence-based Reading By Design and is exclusively for participants that have been previously trained in the Region 4 Dyslexia Intervention Program. Participants will review best practices in dyslexia intervention as learned in the Dyslexia Intervention Program training and bridge this knowledge to the Reading by Design program. Participants will also explore the new material in Reading by Design and take a deeper dive into enhanced program components.

Dyslexia Assessment: GORT-5 & CTOPP-2 Test Administration
Dyslexia Assessment: WRMT-III, TWS-5, CTOPP-2 and GORT-5
This session will train participants on administering a scoring the CTOPP-2 (Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing, Second Edition) and the GORT-5 (Gray Oral Reading Tests - Fifth Edition) for the purposes of gathering quantitative data for dyslexia. Please note that this session will NOT provide and assessment kits to participants as part of the training. Please bring the complete test instrument or a copy of the manual and protocol with you.
