Evaluation
Evaluation Services
Region 18 Education Service Center provides comprehensive support for student evaluations to assist local education agencies (LEAs) in meeting federal, state, and local mandates. This support helps these agencies comply with federal, state, and local requirements for evaluation, reevaluation, monitoring progress on IEP goals, and assessing the effectiveness of educational programs. Additionally, Region 18 facilitates collaborative opportunities for evaluation professionals to connect, discuss current issues, exchange best practices, link with community resources, and share insights with other evaluators and peers.
Evaluators within our region have access to Region 18’s test kit lending library. Click the link below to access the checkout form.
Child Find Services
Region 18 is dedicated to helping LEAs locate, identify, and evaluate all children with disabilities from birth through age 21 who may require early intervention or special education services. We provide collaborative opportunities for evaluation personnel.
We provide an exceptional education consultation for local education agencies (LEAs), which are defined as districts and charters, community members, and families regarding the process of referring and identifying a student with disabilities. We provide families and LEAs resources, guidance, and support to ensure compliance with the federal duty of child find. Our special education consultations include:
- Special education evaluation design and/or interpretation consultation for LEAs.
- Special education Child Find & evaluation process review with family and non-LEA providers.
- Support for assessment evaluation staff for all LEA districts in the region
